Summer Horse Camp!

Great opportunity for kids to learn more about natural horsemanship, spend the day with horses, build a relationship with them and meet new friends.  Just being around horses does wonders to boost the natural health of the human body, mind and spirit. There will be mounted and unmounted activities.  Open to ages 5-12yo. All levels and disciplines are welcome.  If you are older than 12yo and want to participate, please contact us about counselor in training opportunities.  There will be a game day on Friday to show off all you have accomplished with your horse, parents and friends are encouraged to come.  Each week we will focus on something different.  So if you wanted to do multiple weeks, it will be a great experience. 
Available weeks:
June 27th-June 30th  
July 11th-14th
July 25th-28th
August 8th-11th

Runs Tuesday-Friday 9am-2pm.  Cost is $240 per week.  Please bring a lunch, water, sunscreen and/or anything else you may need.  Helmets, long pants and a boot with a small heel are required to ride.  We do have helmets available here if needed.

Sunday 5/7 - Tack Sale 10am-2pm

To benefit our Arabian Rescues.  Come meet our Arabian Rescues who are now up to date, healthy and ready for adoption.  Their care and rehabilitation has been costly. What better way to recoup than a tack sale!  There will also be a silent auction, food, music and just a fun day. $20/table to bring your tack to sell or just come and hang out and shop all to benefit these beautiful majestic horses.  Meet them here Rescue The Horse

Learn to ride obstacles with ease.  Lesson horses can be available if you do not have a horse. Limited to 5 horse/rider combos per level.  Sign up early. Cost is $30.
 
12:00 Beginner Open to riders or horses newly started under saddle.  This is also open to horses in hand.  Lead line helpers welcome. 
1:00 Intermediate Open to horses and riders at an intermediate skill level, and looking to improve or learn versatility skills. 
2:00 Advanced Open to horses and riders that  are confident in their abilities and have some trail or obstacle experience

An obstacle course is created to test communication between horse and rider as well as each competitor's horsemanship skills and athletic ability.  If you don't have your own horse but still want to participate, most of the lesson horses are available by request and availability.

It is Equestrian Mental Fitness month in July here at Babcock Hill.  Riding is 70% mental! This seminar series an excellent way to reach your riding goals and overcome fears. We would like to welcome Liz Piacentini who will be presenting these fun unmounted seminars every Thursday evening in July from 6pm-8pm.  Learn more about Liz and what she does here:  http://betweenourears.com/estimates/  We will have snacks and beverages available.  All ages, disciplines and levels are welcome.  Cost is $25/session or $80 if you signup for all four.  

July 6th GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP FOR RIDERS – You don’t have to show to have Goals! Attendees learn the key elements of successful goal setting, create a positive plan, and receive tips for achieving their goals – not just setting them.  Get on track, stretch your comfort zone, and plan your progress!  
 
July 13th EQUESTRIAN MENTAL TOUGHNESS – Whether schooling or showing, what we think can impact how we ride! Understand effective strategies for maintaining a Positive Mindset. Plus, learn various Creative Imagery and Visualization techniques to help riders increase confidence, sharpen skills and perform at their best.
 
July 20th PRESSURE PROOF YOUR RIDE WITH MUSIC MOTIVATION – Mentally prepare for shows, clinics or a stressful ride using music motivation and techniques created by former USEF Coach, Daniel Stewart. Learn strategies for staying focused when the unexpected happens. These fun and effective skills help riders tackle show jitters and increase confidence when riding under pressure.
 
 July 27th PRESSURE PROOF PLANS & PREPARATIONS – Riders learn how to overcome the “what if’s” of worry through greater awareness of their thoughts, body language, breathing and routines. Worry doesn’t show up the day of a big ride, it starts creeping in sooner! Create personal pre-ride plans and rituals to get in the zone of concentration and ride at your best – even if you experience a mistake.

Sunday 10/29- Halloween Fun Ride starts - 10am

Last ride out at 12pm. All levels and disciplines welcome! Enjoy this 10k ride at your own pace. All jumps are optional. Prizes for best costume and also for finding haunted houses in woods!  Cost is $35. Will be held rain or shine.
